Tips for Achieving a Timeless Wardrobe

Harpers Bazaar's Anna Vitiello is a self confessed treasure hunter, preferring to invest in 'trophy' pieces that will last her a lifetime rather than shopping for a quick fashion fix.

In the first post for her new Bazaar blog, she shares her top five tips for achieving a timeless wardrobe...

1.  Know what's worth the investment.
It doesn't matter if it's an embroidered clutch with 'LOVE' emblazoned on it from Lanvin, or the most classic thing you can buy.  The key is knowing that come rain or shine, you'll still be wearing it with everything you own

2.  Know when to go back and hunt for that missed investment.
Some things don't have to be lost forever, especially with great outlets like Bicester and the wonder of the internet (not forgetting your favourite dress agency!).  With an awful lot of effort you can probably find it somewhere.

3.  The 'three things' rule.
Does it go with at least three things in your wardrobe, and could you make at least three outfits out of it?

4.  Don't be afraid of 'past season'.
Knowing what looks great is just as, if not more appealing than wearing head to toe current season.

5.  Buy what you love!
Trends come and go, but if you love it buy it!
