I think I would amend the title of this feature to read 'How Not To Wear The Longer Skirt'...
Full skirts that fall below the knee can be quite difficult to style well, and the bold print of this particular piece coupled with what appears to be a heavy weight fabric simply add to the problem.
I'm not one for rigid style rules (in the world of fashion rules are definitely meant to be broken), but there is a general consensus that volume on the bottom should be balanced by a slim fit on top, and vice versa. In my opinion, the three outfits styled here demonstrate why this is advice well worth taking.
For a much more successful take on the look, see how several of the women 'On The Street' have styled their longer skirts. Both the oversized red and blue knits work well as the skirts in each case fit closer to their wearer's bodies. But I think the best approach is the one taken by the woman in the middle image where she has tucked her shirt into the skirt and accessorised with a lovely wide belt. This looks great, although it's not for the short waisted among us. Now, that's another issue altogether...
